Best part of summer in any country? Cherries.
Hi Sabrina.. I agree. Throughout my childhood I was raised eating the best and sweetest fruit in the summer and I got spoiled. At least in the U.S. almost all fruit is terrible due to the terrible weather resulting from global warming the last few years and particularly last year. Wonder if fruit will ever be uniformly good again?
BTW, what country are you in now?
Did you celebrate the 4th of July (really should the 2nd of July) with other expatriots?
Still stateside, Seymour.
I like cherries too, although I like strawberries better. I agree with Seymour’s comment regarding weather. It’s currently approaching 2:00 p.m. here in Cent. Illinois, and 98 degrees, supposed to hit 100 or a bit more. We’re experiencing a bit of a drought, really messing up the farmers. Hope things are better this time next year.
Yes, too too hot, Robert! For the crops, for us all.
Peaches, but I’m from South Carolina.
Gorgeous image: Thanks for sharing.
Ah, I do like a good peach.
Fabulous pic. We’re mid-Winter and loving the oranges and naartjies (mandarins in the States, I think) xx
Mid-winter sounds quite dreamy from our scalding summer.
What an awesome photo! I am reminded of adventures in my grandparents’ fruit trees, sampling their forbidden wares then trying to conceal my pilferage at the garden hose (never realizing the water flow was heard throughout the house and my nefarious activities were always noted!) Thanks for sharing such a captivating moment.
And thanks for sharing such a fun story, Tex!
